Fall-Winter 2011 We are starting the seasonal layoffs, our many hunters are glad for that! We had a terrific season with a substantial amount of work getting done in spite of the sometimes crazy weather. Many Thanks to our dedicated employees for their long hours and outstanding service! RCI North Carolina is setting up shop at the Winchester Regional Airport in Winchester, West Virginia and looking forward to wintering there. RCI-NY is winding down work on Route 17 in Chemung County. RCI-NY won another job in that area, so our central NY employees will have even more work next spring. The Thruway project is also ahead of schedule. As long as the weather continues to hold we'll keep working to get things buttoned up and ready for next spring. RCC is keeping employees busy at the GE dredging site in Washington Co., and is also firing up for the Pittsfield MA airport project.
The START! Heart Walk at the Crossings in Albany on October 1st was a big hit. The weather was a little dreary, like much of the summer, but we continued to win our category with donations over $12,000 once again. We are very grateful to all who have participated and given to this cause. Next year's Heart Walk will be in May, so we're hopeful the weather will be more cooperative.
We are looking forward to our combined companies annual safety meeting on Monday, March 5, 2012. Our headline speaker is Ray Evernham -Crew Chief for Jeff Gordon's winning NASCAR team- addressing us all on the importance of TEAMWORK!
Our theme this year for the Annual Holiday Party on January 14th at the Franklin Plaza Ballroom in downtown Troy is snowmen, hopefully snow to make the men will hold off that evening for us. Music this year is provided by "The Refrigerators" - we're looking forward to a great evening of socializing and dancing to complete our season.
It was a good year for our Rifenburg Family of Companies. Our safety rating is down to .64, a phenomenal record, due to our employees ever vigilant safety sense. Congratulations to all employees! Safety Pays in many Ways.
